TOPIC: Nickvoices and imitations

Nickvoices and imitations 11 years, 9 months ago #7573

Hi all,

I've had Diamond for a while - but now I'm really trying to learn how to use it properly ... so I'm still very much a noob (so be warned )

Q: Is it safe to say that; once you've loaded a Nickvoice, and you've played with equalisers and formants etc etc ... that you STILL have to do an imitation of the character to get a complete effect?

ie. If I load the Yoda voice ... I still have to do a Yoda impression (pitch/timbre) before I'll *really* sound like him?

Any advice or opinions would be gratefully received.
Stu

Dear Stuart Dall,
To do the task, you need to go through steps:
* Make sure you have repeat exactly the sample phase.
* Try to mimic the sample voice; notice your intonation, speed, rhythm and volume.
* Your voice should be clear and loud enough.
* Keep the microphone close to your mouth.
Please understand that the result depends much on the input voice. Because each voice is characterized on Pitch and Timbre, it is nearly impossible to change one's voice to a different voice and sound completely realistic. In this case, we suggest you to try with as little change in pitch and timbre as possible for a more natural voice.
