How to change voice in Psi

INTRODUCTION:

» What is Psi?

Psi is a free instant messaging application designed for the XMPP network (including Google Talk). Fast and lightweight, Psi is fully open-source and compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

This tutorial will guide you through the way to use Voice Changer Software Diamond 8.0 (VCSD8) for changing your voice in Psi.

On VCSD8 main panel, click Preferences to open VCS Settings dialog box.

In Preferences tab, switch from Hook mode to Virtual Audio Driver mode.

- Check on Virtual driver Mode(1).

- Click OK (2) to apply the new setting and close Preferences dialog box.


Open VCSD8, choose morphing effects and make adjustments for your voice until you achieve desired voice output.

- Run Psi.

- Choose General menu »Options to open Psi:Options dialog box.

- In Psi:Options dialog box, choose Voice Calling tab.

- Select Microphone (Avnex Virtual Audio Device) as Audio input.

Change Psi Audio Settings

- Click OK to save change and close the dialog box.

From now on, VCSD8’s Virtual Audio Driver will be the main audio driver recognized by Psi.


You now can start calling your friends on Psi. The morphing settings for your voice will be applied automatically.

Please notice that as long as the Voice Changer Software Diamond 8.0 is On, the morphing effects will be applied to your voice automatically. To change it back to your normal voice, just turn off the voice changer software.
